The Bearer of Great Power

When my siblings and I were kids, our parents bought a plot of land about 30 miles outside the city where we lived and began building their dream home. They drove back and forth every weekend checking on various things and in the summer they went several times during the week. For us kids, the…

Can What You Put in Your Mouth Affect Your Positivity?

Many years ago, a friend of mine slipped and fell on the ice dislocating their shoulder. Because of the timing, I was the only person they could reach to take them to the hospital. Having a bone out of joint causes extreme pain. Muscles are stretched in ways they were not intended. As I drove…

Grateful to be Free

There’s a lot about my country that isn’t perfect. Being American doesn’t mean I agree with those bad things that happen here, or to the people who don’t look like me. But, I was born here and I want to make a difference. I appreciate the sacrifices that were made so I could be free…

The Cost of Inspiration

What a genius idea….

Tea Time With Mr. Winter (an excerpt)

Remember last post we talked about my writing shorties? Here is an excerpt of one of them. I don’t know how you feel about the amount of snow you’ve had in your neck of the woods, but here, it’s caused us to miss a friend’s play, a day of work, untold errands and several trips…

The Long and The Short

Most days I lock myself in a little writing closet and don’t come out until I’ve made significant headway on something, usually my book. Once the first draft was completed, a readable rendition, the majority of my read-through tribe couldn’t get into it. Admittedly, the beginning of the book seemed as dull as watching sleeping cats….
